An iOS and Android app for exploring Irish property sales, bringing sale prices, floor areas and comparable homes together on a map.
I built Whack because asking prices were making it hard for first-time buyers to know what they could afford. Houses were being advertised well below what agents expected them to sell for. Buyers would plan around the asking price, then get outbid, over and over.
Whack helps buyers see what comparable homes have actually sold for, so they can set a realistic budget before getting invested in a place.
Making sales data useful
The app brings recorded sales, property details and floor areas together on a map. I built the iOS and Android app, along with the data pipelines that process the property records: Python and SQL for processing, and BigQuery for ingestion and analysis.
